Throw back Thursday…

Me and my dad.

In honor of my dad, I am replacing the picture I had up earlier. My dad passed away 2 years ago today. I am sad today and around this time of year because of that.

Middle of the night calls….

Ok so we get a call around 12:15 AM from oldest daughter, Brit. She is yaking all about how Lauren’s room was broken into at her apartment. This is a long drawn out soap opera so I will spare you all the details. But suffice to say, someone she gave a key to but kicked out of the apartment came in and broke the bedroom door lock and took clothes and pictures. She is safe though. Now she is going to move in with us until she finds another place. I hope we are all ready for this. It could be interesting. Not sure where all the stuff will be put. She will set a bed up in the living room. We don’t have a 3rd bedroom available anymore as it’s an office with 2 computer desks and shelving. Part of the reason we won’t move things around for her is to make her uncomfortable enough to actively seek another place to live. Hopefully something is on the horizon already with a girl from church. Those reading this, please pray.

Memory Monday

Here is a younger picture of me than what I have been posting. I am redoing my scrapbook and came across a bunch of pictures from when I was around 2 and 3 years old. This is a favorite of mine. I am on the left. I must have cut my own bangs as my mom was a hairdresser and she would not have done that to me! lol…

My dog…

my poor dgo Jack is sick. He has allergies and is scratching up a storm. He is leaving fur tufts all over the house. I keep picking them up and sweeping. So today he visited our vet. He gave Jack a cortisone shot and is also on antibiotics for a small staph infection on his leg from all the biting and itching. Funny how both Phil and I were thinking the worst with Jack and were afraid of what we would hear today. We are both so glad it’s only an allergy like the other summers this has happened. It’s just this one was the worst. Here is a picture of our beloved little mutt, Jack.

Well I will be getting those pictures and more. Stay tuned….in the meantime, here is my “Throw back Thursday” picture for this week.

This is me in my first pair of wire framed glasses. I am about 9 or 10.

Baby updates

Today Brit and Big J. heard their baby’s heartbeat! Yippee!! She sounded so happy about it. I wish I could have been with them but I will go out for the ultrasound this summer. I also have a lead on a crib for them. Actually a whole bedroom set, not just the crib but a dresser and changing table and the crib is a canopy one. Brit would like that. More later.

Memory Monday

This is me and my sister. I am the brunette. She colors her hair, back then and still does now. lol..I don’t. Anyway, this was around 1993 or so. I loved having long curly hair but I don’t think I will ever be able to have that again. Oh well….

Father’s Day 2006

Today was good. We woke up at my brother’s house since we stayed there after his wedding. It was beautiful. Pictures later. Then we went to Bob Evan’s, all 7 of us and waited 45 minutes to be sat at a table in the smoking section! It wasn’t too bad though. Then we drove home, and picked Jack up from Cathy’s. She was dogsitting for us. He was fine there, all 3 dogs got along great! Jack made himself at home on Chris’s bed for the night! lol…
Once we were home and rested a bit, Phil took Brit for her last motorcycle ride until after she has the baby. It was short. Then he and I went for a nice long ride and a quick sandwich supper in Penninsula. It was a nice day/evening for riding. We did almost hit a deer on one road but Phil saw it in plenty of time. Whew. That is why I pray for every ride. Now we are all relaxing. Brit and Big J. got Phil a dvd player for Father’s day. Oh yeah, before leaving Pittsburgh, we visited my dad’s gravesite. We never saw it since his name was put on the headstone for the family plot there. We found it rather easily but in a roundabout way.
