Back from Chicago

Posted by micie66 on July 18, 2006

I am home and getting back into the swing of things, well sort of. I am having trouble with all sorts of crap. My eyes are getting worse at night when trying to drive and see things. I hate the roads around here. No lines. I wish they would put something on them.
Phil changed the boys’ room around while I was gone and he also began refinishing the dining room table. I love that man. I am having trouble restarting my Wed. night bible study book and I am concerned about that. The subject matter is good but painful. And then I found out that Lisa is so hurt that I haven’t called in weeks. I am wrong for that and I apologized for it. No excuses. She was sick and needed me and I let something else get in the way. Then I just kept forgetting to call. No good reasons. Oh, and the dizziness is back again. Not sure what to do about it. Tomorrow Jake sees the doctor about his knee. Surgery now or later? I will update later about that.

I can’t help it….

Posted by micie66 on July 11, 2006

but look every time I see a big family when I am out. I don’t mean to stare, it’s more like “in awe” of the mom who can lovingly handle having many children. I counted a 6 child family today and thought how cute they all were. Not one was crying or whining either. I have 4 but mine were never that close, there is a big age gap between the girls and boys. So to see a mom with kids that are 8 and under and there are 6 of them, you look and say, “My my!”. No offense to any large family out there. I am in awe of you all!

My big guy….

Posted by micie66 on July 7, 2006

I love my big guy as much, if not more than my little guy. Here he is doing something he loves: taking care of his Harley-Davidson 1990 soft-tail. I think he is so handsome. This is why I fell in love with this tall man of mine.

And here is my littlest guy on the Harley…he didn’t do any of the cleaning or waxing. I did but that is our little secret.

My poor litttle guy….

Posted by micie66 on July 7, 2006

Jacob is not doing well. He has groin pain and knee pain. Today he had an ultrasound done of his groin area and surrounding “organs”, we’ll say it that way. He did great. I got to see all the pictures on the monitor this time around! lol…I knew what I was looking at for a change! Not sure I wanted to or not. We see the orthopaedic surgeon on the 19th about his knee. He has lateral discoid meniscus. Basically it’s extra cartilage on the outside of his knee. He will be taking a break from Ju Jutsu because of both problems. Poor kid, only 11 and he is falling apart. Here is a cute picture of him.

This is Jake and Brit last summer.

Ribs, ribs everywhere….

Posted by micie66 on July 4, 2006

Well I did it! I finally made ribs and they were so good we are all feeling quiet fat and happy at the moment! The BBQ sauce needs some work but it was still ok. I also made a fantastic potato salad for dinner and then we made cookies from a cake mix. Yummy. Cherries, nice and ripe rounded out the meal. We might not get to see any fireworks tonight because of the threat of thunderstorms and lightening. Too bad. The boys and Phil built a little fire last night and set off some various smoke bombs and sparklers, about all that is legal to light off here. Oh well.

Hi Jay! This was for you!

Something’s gotta give…

Posted by micie66 on July 1, 2006

I mean I go over to my neighbor’s daughter’s grad party and commmnion party for the other daughter and I am afraid to sit. The folding chairs were weak on the soft grass. The only place where the chairs were comfortable enough was on the back deck and no one but me and Phil and Lauren were sitting there. It stinks being fat. When will I be able to lose this weight?
