I got a great hubby

School stuff and boys

Today is a special day at school as well. It’s called Cuddle Up and Read day. The kids got to go to school in their flannel jammies and bring a favorite stuffed toy and book to read today. Here are the boys in the jammies. Their slippers, which are soft fuzzy ones, are already packed in the backpacks and they forgot to hold their stuffed animals. But here they are! Caleb is getting a haircut soon!

Wow, I haven’t blogged in a few days…
It’s not like I haven’t had time, I did have time. It just seemed that nothing was worth writing about. I guess I have a few things now. Yesterday I was let down again. First by people who just weren’t acting very Christian-like over the past week or so. Reality hit me when I talked with another person about the situation. It made me sad and angry.
Then I felt let down by Phil in a money situation. Long, long story there that I won’t go into but it was the catalyst or trigger of a flood of memories of people letting me down. The worst was when I was 10 or 11 and my parents sent me by bus to a doctor’s appointment. That doctor violated me that day. I must have been crying for over 45 minutes when Phil finally made me take another Xanax to calm down.
On Wednesday, I found out that my prescription drug company upped the co-pay on one of my main meds and didn’t bother to tell me so my health bank account went into the negative and I bounced a check. Hopefully the bank trying to submit the check doesn’t try to send it through until the money I transferred in clears. If not, there isn’t much I can do about it. I guess that’s about it for the junk. Next post is about good stuff.
Quiet weekend
Well it snowed more this weekend. We probably got another 3 inches or more. Yuck! I went out Saturday night with some girl friends for dinner and a movie. We went to Outback. It was busy and the parking lot was a snowy mess! The roads were awful. But I made it home alive. We saw Music and Lyrics. It was a good movie. Cute.
Sunday was quiet. We stayed home from church due to the roads again. But I went to do Alpha in the evening. It was so crazy weather wise. The roads were ok. It snowed a little but by the time I got to the church driveway, it was a white-out! Sheesh! Crazy. Every 20 minutes we looked outside, the weather changed.
Kids are home today from school. President’s day and all. Tomorrow is their school wide opera. It should be fun. It will be a long night though as Jake is in the choir and they perform at both performances.
Friday night date…
Tonight Phil and I have an in-house date night. We finally got a VCR from someone and borrowed some old movies from the library. We have plans to watch a movie and talk. Preferrably not at the same time! I took Jake to the dr. today for a well child visit. I asked the dr. before about getting some bloodwork done on Jake because of his moodiness at school. So today Jake had one tube of blood drawn. He was scared but did really good, with only minimal crying.
Something I forgot to blog about from last weekend. After all my family left, the kids were all hungry for pizza. So I called and gave our last name as the order name for the pick-up. Phil tells me about the last time he called the same place to order pizza. When he gave his name, Phil, the guy actually asked if he could have something easier to spell! I said he should have said, yeah I-D-I-O-T! Oy! So when Phil went to pick up the pizza last Saturday, the botched our 4 letter last name, even though I spelled it out, and only had one pizza ready for us. I wonder if it’s time to find a new pizza place!
Valentines Day Snow Storm 2007
The path we cleared for the dog one hour ago is covered again! Hopefully he can figure out how to relieve himself in that snow! Poor little puppy!
We can’t find the other small shovel as it’s buried near the backdoor somewhere. I can’t even drag the trash cans down to the end of the driveway for pick-up but I am guessing that is delayed a day. I hope. We missed pick-up last week.
There are drifts all around the vehicles. The SUV has snow on the hood that is level with the roof! I can’t get down the porch steps as there is a drift at the bottom about 2 feet deep. The front stormdoor doesn’t want to close all the way. And the gap at the bottom means snow is blowing up and in and onto the front door. I have a towel across the bottom of the door on the inside now. I talked to Phil and he had to dig out his work truck this morning. Once he got it on the road, he parked it, put on the flashers, and came in the house for his stuff. What an ordeal.
Last night it took him 3 hours and 30 minutes to drive the equivalent of 1 hour. Lauren was scared to drive her normal 5 min. drive home from work and it took her 20 minutes. Bad bad bad all around.

A Stupid thing I did today…
Not much was blog worthy today, but this was. I was pretending to chug down a corked bottle of wine in front of the boys. Then all of a sudden I felt liquid doing down my neck and into my bra! lol…It leaked out of the cork. The boys thought it was great!! Mom trying to be cool looking like a big dork!
Oh yeah my hair smells like wine too and I have to go out to a dinner tonight!

Here she is with Grandpa and Uncle Jake!
