A few new fabrics…

And a few new bags. Here are the new fabrics for future bags.

One more set of colors.

This bag will be done once I sew on the fabric covered button. I am excited about this newer shape and style.

This next bag was custom made for a woman who mailed me fabric she used to make a quilt for her grandma. She just lost her grandma so now this purse will be a nice reminder for her, she says.

march-009I am currently working on a messenger bag for a classmate of my son and will be starting another one for a priest at my church. I am also working on a pillow for readers. I am super busy with sewing projects.

Life goes on…

In spite of all the interesting things happening around me, life goes on. Phil is doing well. The boys are good as are the girls and their families. I am still trying to find a job. In the meantime, I am getting orders to sew things. Totes, purses and now pillows. I am glad for all of it but wonder how to make it be what we need for a job for me. I am not organized enough here.  I can be organized in controlled environments but my home is about to explode. I am going to have to go on a computer fast to get it all done. My sewing stuff is everywhere. The paper clutter is awful and Phil’s computer made it’s way back into the living room for the time being.  Too much stuff in a small space.

Then there is Caleb’s room. Poor kid, he hasn’t had his space to himself for awhile now. It seems a bunch of stuff was just piled in there during some cleaning and changing of rooms. I have to help him and get some stuff out of there. Why is it so hard for me to throw things out or give them away? It’s very frustrating to me and my family. I need help.

Home alone

Ahhh no one is here with me. By a strange set of circumstances I am sitting here all alone. I don’t have to get coffee or water or an ice pack or a pillow or Ibuprofen or Tylenol or nothing for no one for about an hour and 30 minutes! What a feeling!!! I love my husband but it’s wearing me down to keep being the “gopher” person around here.
I will admit that he is getting much better at getting around and doing things for himself. Little things to me but big to him, like dressing himself including pulling out his own clothes, getting his own water even if he stands at the water tank and drinks it there. We brought up his computer from the man-cave and he is a happy guy playing all these crazy man games. It gives him one more distraction which is good. He is going to rehab twice a week for the knee and is doing good. Today I am dropping him off at a coffee shop or the library for an hour or two so he can be out alone. That will do him a lot of good.
But me? I am just so happy to be here and be free for a bit. No one is interrupting me!!! Not even the dog!!!!!!!!!!!
