Gosh, I never thought I would feel good about doing spring cleaning but I do. I thoroughly cleaned about 80% of my bedroom today. I still have one corner and a dresser left to declutter, dust and rearrange. I will be putting my crazy pc back in my room when all is said and done. And I will be having a sewing corner in my living room as well. Ah, progress.
I heard or read somewhere that if you put cheesecloth over the inside of heating/cooling vents, it will cut down on dust so we are going to try that in our room.
In an effort to drastically cut back on bills, we will be using our AC less this year and will need the windows open. A few fans might also be needed. I just hope Jake’s and Phil’s allergies aren’t too bad this year. If they are, then we have no choice but to use the AC but we will be keeping the temp up higher.
Today was a beautiful day here but I was inside doing all that cleaning. Phil and Caleb did yardwork, while Jake went with the Youth Group to work on the Keep Akron Beautiful project. They cleaned a part of the city as an outreach. Then they had a free lunch and zoo passes. I guess they all had fun. Lauren went along with Isaiah and now Jake is staying over her house tonight. So it’s very quiet and peaceful here.
I need to do another menu plan for Monday. Maybe.

Spring cleaning
Ever wonder…
who buys those tacky, silly silk roses with flocked bears wrapped in plastic at conveinance stores? I now know!
The other day Phil was stopping for some beer when driving home. He was going to a Circle K store and we were talking on the phone before he went inside. I hinted that he should “think of me” when he goes into the store the same way I think of him when I go to the store. I usually buy him a treat or something just for him. It’s always little but it’s something that says “I am thinking of you”. He got my hint.
When he came home, he showed me my gift. Here it is.

Closer view of the bear, heart and rose.

Every time I think of this tacky rose, I start giggling. It was not meant to be serious but funny and I took it that way. Right now I am not really happy with that man so it’s good I am gigglings and putting this on here. It’ll save him in the long run! haha….
A few of my latest projects…
These are a few of the latest bags that I made and sold already. I just can’t seem to find time to make any and then sell them before I am doing custom orders. I guess that is good.
This is the “man” version of my messenger bag. I made my own pattern for this but will be modifying it again since I keep having issues with the area where the flap meets the side gussets.

This bag was made for a classmate of Caleb’s. She was so pleased with this. I love the colors!

She chose a zebra print for the lining! lol

This is my own personal bag I made as a sort of “therapy”. I was down one particular day and an online friend gave me a swift kick in the butt to do something constructive so I made this purse. I get a lot of compliments on the fabric combo and when I went back to purchase more of the print, it was all sold out! Baaa And you’ll have to imagine the fabric covered button in the solid color as I didn’t take a picture after I sewed that on the purse.
