Friday’s Feast

Appetizer: What is your middle name? Lynn

Would you change any of your names if you could? Maybe

Purple, silks, and long flowing things.

Salad: What is your least favorite chore, and why?

Dusting, because you must clean up everything else before you can dust off the furniture. If it is covered in clutter, de-cluttering comes first. I hate all of it!

Main Course: What is something that really frightens you, and can you trace it back to an event in your life?

Swimming under water. When I was a kid, my dad and uncle thought there was only one way to teach a kid to swim, toss them into the water when they least expected it. Well now I am afraid of going under. I hate being near the edge of pools and lakes, etc… I don’t know that I will ever overcome this fear. I hate how the pressure of being under water feel.

Dessert: Where are you sitting right now? Name 3 things you can see at this moment. At my computer desk.

Here is my finished, before we devoured it pot roast. Sorry for the poor quality but my camera died and we took the photo with a camera phone. Poor lighting?

I learned so much from this experience. I learned to use new herbs, wine in cooking, and how to buy a good cut of beef. I mean if a cattle rancher’s wife tells you what to look for, you know you should be able to trust her, right? So with my new knowledge, I went to Sam’s club and bought chuck roast, which happened to be on sale for $2.99 a pound! And I bought dried thyme and rosemary in bulk. I will be using these up quickly with other recipes as well. Poor Phil wasn’t feeling well but he ate and loved every bite. I am so proud of myself right now! lol..it’s the simple things.

No feast today…

so I guess I am on my own for blogging. Things are rough around here but I think we will make it through. I was super super busy yesterday. I went shopping for all the groceries and presents that had yet to be purchased. I ended up going to 5 stores but they were all very close to one another. And in the middle of all the shopping, I had a counseling appointment! lol…only a bipolar person can truly swing from thought to thought like that and still maintain some level of insanity! I think of it as a gift of the curse. I was so focused the last few days. Today is a little different. I got easily frustrated just making Jell-o and getting it into the fridge! I spilled a bit on the floor and the shelf inside the fridge. And because the fridge is tipped back, thanks to our crooked, uneven kitchen floor, the Jell-o wanted to set crooked. I wedged a paper towel, all crumbled up, under the one end of the bowl. I should check on it now, as it’s most likely to be set by now.
I had to let Lauren borrow the van for work so I am missing Caleb’s Christmas party at school. I wasn’t scheduled to help but wanted to be there for him for a little of the time. That’s ok though.
Ok I still have to assemble the dips for tomorrow’s trip to see my family, make truffles, wrap gifts, and write out a few cards. That’s about it for now. Ta-ta for a few days.

Main Course:What was a lesson you had to learn the hard way?

That kids will grow up and make choices you don’t always agree with but you have to grin and bear it and love them anyway.

Dessert:Describe your idea of the perfect relaxation room.

Warm in winter, with a fireplace and cozy blankets and big picture windows with a lovely snowy mountainous view. Cool in summer, with slow moving fans and overlooking the ocean with very blue-green water.

When was the last time you were surprised?

Hmm, need to think on that. Oh yeah, sometime in August. Phil bought me a dozen roses only I didn’t get the full dozen right away. He put 2 roses in each of two vases and the roses continued to double until I had 6 in each vase. That was a great surprise.

Take my meds on time daily and get at least 8 hours of sleep each night.

What brand of toothpaste are you using these days? Do you like it? Why or why not?

Pepsodent w/baking soda. Yes, because it’s cheap, tastes just fine and does the same job the expensive brands do!

Friday’s Feast

Appetizer: On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you look forward to your birthday? Oh somewhere in the range of 7-8. I am going to be 41 and so far the 40’s haven’t been too terrible. I have one grandchild and another on the way, so it can’t be all bad, right?

Soup: What is one word you don’t like the sound, spelling, or meaning of? I don’t like the word colonel. It doesn’t sound anything like it’s spelled. It messed up my note taking this week at a meeting!

Salad: Do you wear sunglasses when you’re outside? If so, what does your current pair look like? Yes, I have to. I wear contacts and the sun causes me to strain to see while driving. My pair are rectangular and big. Like the current styles but not too obnoxiously big!

Main Course: If you were to write a book, to whom would you dedicate it? Hmm..that would depend on the subject matter. Probably my husband or my kids.

Dessert:Name a beverage that you enjoy Raspberry soy mocha from Starbucks!
